Experience a rare opportunity to learn from world-renowned dry stone artist Dan Snow, in the striking volcanic landscapes of southwest Iceland. This immersive masterclass takes place in Hafnir – a historic coastal hamlet steeped in stories and stone – and focuses on artistic expression through traditional dry stone building techniques.

Dan Snow is globally known for his sculptural and site-responsive work in stone. In this course, participants will explore creative composition, intuitive design, and hands-on building with raw Icelandic stone, all while gaining a deeper understanding of form, balance, and landscape connection.

Set in an extraordinary setting where history meets raw natural beauty, this course invites you to build with purpose, imagination, and care.

    Exclusions
      • Lunch or meals – participants should bring their own packed lunch each day

      Please note
        • This experience takes place outdoors in varied Icelandic weather conditions – please dress accordingly
        • No prior experience is needed – the program is suitable for most fitness levels
        • Participants will be working with natural stone and simple hand tools in a hands-on, physical setting
        • Work is done at a comfortable pace – everyone contributes according to their own ability
        • Not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility due to uneven terrain
        • Not recommended for children under 16 unless accompanied by a guardian and approved in advance
        • Basic first aid and safety protocols are followed at all times
        What to bring
          • Sturdy footwear(preferably hiking boots or work shoes with good grip)
          • Warm, layered clothing – weather can change quickly
          • Waterproof outerwear(jacket and trousers)
          • Work gloves(if you have a preferred pair – otherwise we provide them)
          • Hat/beanie and sunscreen – yes, you may need both!
          • Reusable water bottle
          • Packed lunch/snacks – we provide coffee, tea and light refreshments
          • Camera or phone(optional, but you might want to capture your creation!)
